Roger Leroy Parkhurst

RACINE - Roger Leroy Parkhurst, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday February 8, 2025, at Lakeshore at Siena. Roger was born in Eau Clair, WI, on January 4, 1939, son of the late Lauren and Murtle (nee: McMahon) Parkhurst.

He graduated from Mondovi High School "Class of 1957". He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard. On September 26, 1958, Roger married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Zuidema, at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church. Together they moved to Racine for work where Roger was employed with JI Case Company for thirty-five years. Following retirement, Roger and Sharon relocated to Wild Rose, their little "piece of heaven" where they enjoyed the peace and quiet, nature and good friends. Roger and Sharon shared sixty wonderful years together before Sharon passed away in 2017. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and his trips with family and friends to Cygnet Lake in Canada. Roger will be remembered for his social nature, his great sense of humor and his deep love and devotion to his family.

Roger will be dearly missed by his children, Scott Parkhurst (Dawn White), Cindy (Gary) Hyatt, and Steve (Kelley) Parkhurst; grandchildren, Amber Heieren, Keith (Amy) White, Jennifer (Matthew) Puma, Joshaua (Catherine) James, Shawna Hyatt, Tara Hyatt (Zach), Ryan Hyatt (Becka), Ashley Graves, and Alex Parkhurst; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alex Riley, Isabella, Samuel, Abby, Devin, Amary, Chase, LJ, Emma, Willow, Zane, Averie, Braeden and Camden; sister, Donna Eide; sister-in-law, Jean Parkhurst; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was also preceded in death by his siblings, Milford, Lamoine, and Donald, and his best friend, Jerry Trowbridge, who treated him like family.

Private family services will be held with interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
