Roger Blake Pickett

Roger Blake Pickett, age 86, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was born on July 4, 1939, in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Columbus and Hazel (Blakeman) Pickett. Roger was a member of Davidson Memorial United Methodist Church of Shepherdsville for 59 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of faithful service. Roger was skilled in woodworking and could make anything out of wood just by looking at a picture. He enjoyed traveling with his late wife and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. Spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren are what Roger held most dear to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce (Moore) Pickett; sister, Shirley Henley (Richard) and brothers, Doyle Wayne Pickett and Ronnie Pickett (Judy).

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Clifton Blake Pickett (Bridget); daughters, Connie Hatfield (David) and Melissa Laytham (Marc); grandchildren, Chloe Pickett (Tyler), Blake Laytham (Rachel) and Bailey Bradley (Levi); great-grandchildren, Easton Bradley and Carter-Jo Bradley; brother, Gayle Pickett (Sue Todd); sister-in-law, Marjorie Pickett; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Pete Reliford and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

Graveside service on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. Central Time at Moore Cemetery with burial to follow
