ROGER LEE PLANTS age 63, beloved husband for 40 years of Connie (nee Dudich); loving father of Roger Jr. and Ryan; cherished son of the late William and Hazel (nee Sprowls); dearest brother of the late Samuel (wife Tammy); devoted son-in-law of the late Frank and Delores Dudich; dear uncle of Tyler; treasured brother-in-law and uncle of many. U.S. Navy Veteran.
Roger was born on January 28, 1961. He was raised in Chardon and graduated from Chardon High School. For the past 24 years, he and his family resided in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Proudly, Roger was employed as the plant manager for Contractors Steel, retiring after 34 years, but not before serving as a ‘father figure’ for many at work. His hobbies included golf, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes football team, and being a motorcycle enthusiast. In his free time, Roger loved to spend many hours in the back yard and his garage. Attending family reunions brought him great enjoyment. His family describes him as blunt and gruff at times, but truly had a big heart. Roger passed away on February 3, 2024 and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Roger to Wounded Warriors Project.
Prayers of Christian Burial Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 7:00 PM at The Funeral Home. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Roger at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) WEDNESDAY 4-7 PM.
