Roger Lissel Redman, age 81 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at his residence. Born on February 10, 1944, in Petersburg, WV, he was a son of the late Harry Lissel Redman and Flora Elizabeth (Beckwith) Redman. After a life well-lived, Roger now joins his beloved wife, Margaret Ann Cole Redman, who preceded him in death in May 2019, along with his dear siblings, Dana, Keith, Sr., Selena, Shirley, and Sharon.
Roger was known for his hard work and dedication, having built a diverse career that began at Bar-Lo Ford, the Gulf station and garage and culminated in over 20 years at American Woodmark and lastly at Foodlion. Retirement didn’t keep him from staying active—far from it! He was a beloved member of Asbury Church, always ready to lend a hand as a trustee, treasurer, or the go-to fix-it guy whenever something needed attention.
Family meant everything to Roger. He loved cheering on his family as they participated in sports, and he took joy in the lovely moments spent on his porch watching birds and working on word search puzzles. With a love for nature, he fondly remembered camping adventures taken with family during his younger years.
Surviving is a daughter, Ronnette (Mervin) Pope of Moorefield, WV; a son Rodney (Cindy) Redman of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Harry G. Redman of Petersburg, WV; a sister, Teresa Redman of Petersburg, WV; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Jackie Russell; brother-in-law, Ervin “Turk” Cole; and children they were blessed with in their home, Robert Crank, Phillip Jones, Shannon Kornegay, Reginald Redman, Christopher Redman, Vivian McLean, Dallas Gray and Michael Redman.
