Roger Riebeling age 75, of Sibley, IA, died Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 24th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with the family present at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 25th, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Timothy Nappe officiating.
Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley, with military honors by George E. Mudge American Legion Post No. 324, William F. Allard VFW Post No. 7373, and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.
In lieu of flowers, Riebeling family asks that memorials be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley.
Roger Allen Riebeling was born on November 30, 1949, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Martha (Sohl) Riebeling. He grew up in the George and Ashton area. He graduated from high school in Sibley in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 11, 1969, and served until January 8, 1973.
Roger married Debora Janssen on June 14, 1975, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Reverend Wessels officiating. The couple was blessed with two children, Kimberly and Kevin.
Roger worked for Topsoil Schoenewe, Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT), Farmers Cooperative Elevator, then bought his own truck and leased on with Prins Trucking of Worthington, Minnesota, until his retirement in August of 2020.
He enjoyed yard work, helping his brother-in-law harvest, camping with friends, doing honey-do wood projects, and taking a few family vacations with his children and their families to Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. He also enjoyed spending as much time as possible visiting the kids in Kansas City and North Carolina.
Roger is survived by his wife of fifty years, Deb; daughter, Kim (Jeff) Folkmann, and their children, Collin and Leah of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Kevin (Lindsey), and their daughter, Ava of Mooresville, North Carolina; two brothers, Larry (Rhonda) Riebeling of Sibley, Iowa, and Dwayne (Jean) Riebeling of Yorktown, Virginia; sister-in-law, Sue Riebeling of St. Paul, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Merlin Riebeling.
