Roger Rohrer Obituary
Roger was born on March 26, 1947 in Wadsworth to Sanford and Alice (Light) Rohrer. He served in the U.S. Navy and was self-employed having owned his own Telecommunications and Computer Data business. Roger was a very bright and proud man who loved animals, playing on the computer, firearms and raising blueberries. He did martial arts for most of his life and he is remembered for his love for his country and his loyalty to longtime friends and his family.
Surviving is his daughter, Athena Rohrer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Mona Rohrer and Ken and Norma Rohrer; several nephews and his little dog, "Bella".
Private family services were held. Murray Funeral Home in Creston handled arrangements.

Roger and I first met at counter insurgency school on Coronado Island in San Diego, California, in 1967. We became friends. He dated my cousin and I dated her friend. We were overjoyed at the end of our training to,learn that we would both be stationed on the same Navy base in South Vietnam, Dong Tam. We were inseparable. At night, when we were off duty, we partied. In nearby Mytho City, we sowed our wild oats. We were both discharged from the Navy after our tour of duty on the same day. Unfortunately, we lost track of each other. We didn´t have each other´s phone numbers or addresses. Sadly, I learned that he passed away. I salute you, my brother.

We met in San Diego and later we both were stationed on the same base
in Vietnam. We were best friends. We lost track of each other when we were discharged on Dec. 17, 1968. He dayed my cousin once upon a time.
