Kay E. Rohrer, age 61, of rural Portland passed away Saturday February 14, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Portland on September 1, 1964 the daughter of Elza and Roselyn (Reynolds) Lynch. Kay was a Registered Nurse working at Jay County Hospital for forty years. She was a 1982 Jay County High School graduate and received her nursing degree from Ivy Tech. She was an organizer for Trinity Food Bank, enjoyed counted cross stitching and was an avid reader. She was awarded the Jack Cole Volunteer of the year. She loved her grandchildren.

Surviving is her children Chris Rohrer of Portland and Missy Getts (husband Mitchell) of Garrett, Indiana, three sisters Florine Golden (husband David) of Portland, Bettie Jacobs of Portland and Dina Crabill (husband Gary) of Garrett, Indiana, brother Jim Lynch (wife Missi) of Bedford, Indiana, Five grandchildren Linda, Kylie, Logan, Carter and Trace. She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Anne Miller.

Funeral services will be Friday February 20th at 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with David Golden presiding. Burial will follow in the MRE Cemetery in Berne. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Trinity Food Bank.
