Roger Lauren Rohrs, born on April 28, 1946, in Hamler, Ohio, passed away on Nov. 9, 2025, at Vancrest of Holgate.
He was a dedicated member of the community, known for his commitment to both his profession and his faith. Roger began his journey in the electrical trade after graduating from Hamler High School and attending trade school.
He worked for IBEW Union 8 as an electrician, where he honed his skills and built a respected career in the tri-state area. His expertise and work ethic were valued not only by his employers but also by his colleagues within the union.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Roger proudly served his country upon entering the Navy in 1965. His military service was a significant part of his life, marking a time of dedication and sacrifice.
A member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church of Hamler, Roger's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He engaged with his community through his church, exemplifying the values of kindness and service that he held dear.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (Taylor) Bockelman of Defiance, and son Ben (Hannah) Rohrs of Delaware. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, who will remember him fondly. Roger is also survived by his sisters, Doris Armbruster, Irene Joost, and Norma Damman, all of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ida (Sundermann) Rohrs; and siblings Elmer Rohrs, Laura Schroeder, Helen Aschemeier, Arleta Cohrs, Lavina Nickels, Janet Norden, Nancy Behrman and Larry Rohrs.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date. The Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate has been entrusted with Roger's services.
The legacy of Roger Rohrs will be remembered by all who knew him. His impact on both his family and his community will be cherished for generations to come.
