Roger Ruediger, loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 80.
Roger's family meant everything to him. He is survived by his kids-Scott (Sharon), Steve, Mary Beth, and Sarah (Don)-his grandkids-Hunter, Payton, Jon, Zachary, Dustin, Conner, and Clara, his brother Dennis and sister-in-laws Dianne and Linda. They will all miss him dearly. Roger is now reunited with his parents, Gary and Stella, his beloved wife Mary Ellen, his son Jeffery, and his brother Glenn.
Roger was a hard worker who spent his life taking care of the people he loved. He retired as Millwright from Evinrude Motors and Harley Davidson, and even in retirement he never really slowed down; spending time traveling with his wife, children and grandchildren and tinkering in his garage.
He loved being outdoors. Whether he was fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, or riding motorcycles, Roger was happiest outside, especially when he had his kids, grandkids, or friends by his side. In his later years, he still found joy in the little things-smoking a cigar, having a beer, or showing his grandkids the "proper" way to pull weeds from the driveway.
Roger didn't say much, but when he did, it was either to make someone laugh or to share a bit of wisdom (sometimes both at the same time). His dad jokes were endless, and he loved nothing more than sitting around a campfire with friends, trading stories and laughs.
He's going to be missed more than words can say. We like to imagine he's up there now, enjoying Oreos and a double cheeseburger, having a cold beer with his wife and all the loved ones waiting for him.
His love, humor, and quiet strength will stay with us forever.
