Roger Vester Skinner, born February 1, 1941, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. Roger was a simple country man who found joy in the quiet, meaningful rhythms of life. He loved farming and gardening, spent his days surrounded by his cats, and never turned down an old western. A skilled woodworker and carpenter, he could often be found tending his wood-burning stove, with Little Debbies close by.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, B.S. and Genora Skinner; his brother, Robert Skinner; his sister, Minnie Bruce; his brother, Terry Skinner; his sister, Martha Jones; his sister, Dianne Benke; and his brother, Bill Skinner..
He is survived by his sister, Kathy Owens (Teddy); his niece, Tonya Fuller (Jamie); sister-in-laws Connie Skinner and Dianne Skinner; brother-in-law Don Benke; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will take place at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
