Roger Wayne Sleezer was born on June 29th 1944 to Wayne and Fern (Spears) Sleezer in Cherokee, IA. He was a Cherokee resident throughout his life. After graduating with the Washington High School class of 1962, Roger began work as foreman on the Sleezer Roofing crew. He was united in marriage to Janet Lowder on November 19, 1966 and they remained side by side until her passing in May 2023. Roger became owner of the family company upon his father's retirement in 1983 and operated the business for several years. Later in life he worked at VT manufacturing in Holstein IA until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Roger is survived by his brother, Paul Sleezer, of Cherokee and his two sons. Warren (Natasha) in Las Vegas, NV and Aaron (Susan) in Lebanon TN. His family also includes six grandchildren.
