Roger Eugene Staats, much loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Sunday November 10, 2024 in Denison, Texas. He was 79. Roger was born August 23, 1945, in Stafford, Kansas to Wesley and Geraldine Staats. Roger grew up in Sylvia Kansas surrounded by many family members and met his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Kay (Baar) Staats. Roger was hard working and dedicated to everything he did. He spent his career as a business consultant spanning many different fields helping many secure success in their endeavors. He was a man of integrity, kindness and generosity and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Roger was a servant in every way. He was an elder at First Christian Church in Gainesville, TX, dedicating much of his time to the fellowship of the Church. He was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
Roger's hobbies and interests included making wooden crosses that he shared with family, friends and strangers. He made and gave away over 14,000 crosses. The lasting impact these crosses have had and will continue to have is a blessing to all. He also was a talented writer. His collection of poems will be treasured for many years to come.
Roger is survived by his wife Evelyn Kay Staats, his son, Tracy Staats & his wife Nicole, grandson, Landon Staats and granddaughter Camille Staats, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

I remember Roger from the 1980s, he was a business partner to my late father in-law John Tracy. I remember the Roger and John loved golfing and if I ever needed to find them they were usually at the golf course. Roger was an awesome guy and always treated me with respect. Tracy, my prayers to you, your mom and your family. I´m sure he and John are on the best course you can imagine right now. May God bless you all.
