Roger Stenstrom Obituary

A native of Jamestown, he was born August 25, 1951, a son of the late Wesley and Gertrude Fisher Stenstrom.
He was a 1969 graduate of Jamestown High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Potsdam State College in conjunction with the University of Madrid. Following graduation, he stayed in Madrid to teach English.
While in Jamestown, he was a member of the former First United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his sister Karen Peru and niece Kris Riggins both of Corry, PA and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers James, David and Ronald Stenstrom and a nephew Jerry Peru.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Roger was my first roommate at SUNY Potsdam. We both played jv soccer together, though I was called up to varsity halfway through my freshman year. We did many things together as roommates and he fixed me up with my first college girlfriend. He was a great friend although we lost contact during my sophomore year. Godspeed Roger, and I will see you again in heaven.
