Roger Dale Stills

Roger Dale Stills, age 68 of Decherd, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. Roger was born on April 30, 1957, in Winchester, to Joyce (Brewer) Stills and the late Warnie J. Stills. He previously worked at Custom Frames and most currently worked at Woody's Tree Service. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking his family to the Smokie Mountains. He always made light in every situation and was always aggravating someone. Roger was a member of the Estill Springs Baptist Church. He will be remembered as the greatest father you could ask for and a best friend to his grandson. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Stills, and brother-in-law, Wayne Yates. Roger is survived by his wife of thirty years, Patty Stills; son, Robert Watts; grandson, Nathen Watts; mother, Joyce (Brewer) Stills; sisters, Wanda Yates and Jennifer (Scotty) Brinkley; nieces, Angela (Matthew) Davis, Regina (Michael) Rogers, Alanis (Jacob) Bentley and Alanda (Caleb) Elliott; great- nephews, Dalton Reed, Logan Eddens, Tye Elliott, and Bryson Elliott; great-niece, Adalynn Elliott. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 10:00am from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robert Watts or Patty Stills for expenses.
