Edna Elise Stills

Edna Elise Cates Stills, age 77, a resident of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edna was born on February 16, 1948, in Lewis County, Tennessee, to the late Ollie E. Cates and the late Estella McNabb Cates. She enjoyed quilting and created many different kinds of quilts, especially baby quilts. She loved cooking for her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She was of the Baptist faith.

Edna is survived by her son, Roy “Sam” Wiley Stills, III of Hohenwald, brother, James “Buddy” Cates of Hampshire, sisters, Dorothy Carroll of Columbia, Amy Betsy Runions of Hampshire, Katie Cates of Hampshire and Francis (Larry) Runions of Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wiley Stills, Jr., brother, Van Franklin Cates and infant brother, William Cates.
