Roger Thibaudeau Sr, 75, passed away peacefully on 7/20/24 with his wife Jessie by his side.
Born in Leominster, MA to Leopold and Germaine Thibaudeau as the youngest of seven children, Roger served in the US Army, reaching the rank of Sergeant. At 21 years old, he married the love of his life, Jessie in 1970, and entered the MD State Police Academy in 1972. Soon after, he welcomed his two children, Roger Jr and Tania, into his life. After 27 years of service, Roger retired from the MD State Police, reaching the rank of Lieutenant through a career that spanned numerous responsibilities all across the state. A dedicated father, and loving grandfather to four grandsons, Roger was known in the community for his unwavering service through roles as little league coach, gymnastics dad, soccer coach, Fraternal Order of Police treasurer and golf league coordinator. He also held numerous leadership positions in support of the American Legion in Dundalk, including Post Commander and Honor Guard Captain.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Thibaudeau, his daughter Tania (husband Paul) and his son Roger Thibaudeau Jr. and his late wife Madhu Thibaudeau. Grandfather to Luke, Roger III, Ryan, and the late Brandon Fletcher. Brother to the late Leopold Thibaudeau, Theresa Mahan, Viola Yuergens, Joseph Thibaudeau, Doris Bunton, and Albert Thibaudeau. Roger was additionally preceded in death by his parents Leopold and Germaine Thibaudeau. He is also survived by many friends and family members with whom he enjoyed spending time with through his service to the community, golfing, or just sharing laughs over a beer.
A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Friday July 26, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 9:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Maryland.
