William Roger Tucker, 66, of Columbus, passed away Friday, May 23, 202,5 at Columbus Regional Hospital after a short illness.
Roger was born May 4, 1959, to Randall and Evelyn Tucker in Columbus, Indiana. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran School, Columbus North High School, and received his bachelor's degree from Indiana University. He worked for Marvin Johnson and Associates for 40 years and considered them his second family.
Roger married Janet Lynn Bowen 40 years ago and was blessed with two wonderful children, Bryan and Erica, and one grandchild, Caleb.
Roger was an avid sports fan and spent his entire life playing sports and coaching his son when he was younger. He stayed active into his adult life and enjoyed going on fishing trips with his son to Sanibel Island, playing golf with friends every Saturday in the summer, taking boat rides with his family, watching Indiana football and basketball, and playing with his grandson.
He loved living in Columbus and developed many close friendships over the course of his life. His greatest joy was his family, and he was blessed to have his children, as well as most of his extended family, close by in town. His family gathered together often, and those were his favorite times.
Roger is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Bryan Tucker; daughter, Erica (Brandon) Colliver; grandson, Caleb Colliver; father, Randall Tucker; brothers, Richard (Mary) Tucker and Grant Tucker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eddie and Laura Lou Bowen; brother-in-law, Mike (Tina) Bowen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Tucker; grandparents, Ovie and Oris Tucker and Elmer and Minnie Armuth; and sister-in-law, Susan Adler.
A memorial service will take place at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am with a service immediately following at 10 am. Inurnment will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Columbarium.
