Roger Vanselow passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at the age of 74. Roger was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 25, 1950, to loving parents, Duane and Melba Vanselow (née Shallock). He joined the military in 1970. While stationed in Korea, he met the love of his life, Kim.
Roger lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and dedication to his family and work. A skilled maintenance repairman, he had natural talent for fixing and creating. A true jack-of-all-trades, he worked at Ryerson Steel for over 50 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment and expertise. He was also deeply devoted to his faith and was involved with the Lutheran Pioneers.
In addition to his career at Ryerson Steel, Roger was proud to have earned his real estate license working with Century 21 for many years. His passion for hard work and lifelong learning was evident in everything he pursued.
Roger's greatest joy was his family. He lovingly raised four children: Aaron (Becky) Vanselow, Traci (the late Travis) Schram, Ryan (Lindsay) Vanselow, and Colleen (Joel) Christians. He cherished his role as a grandfather to seven grandchildren: Tegan, Taryn, James, Alexander, Phillip, Merrlin, and Ella. Married to his devoted wife, Kim, for over 50 years, Roger exemplified love and partnership. He is also survived by four siblings and was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Melba. He will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and gracious nature, Roger was a man who valued integrity and believed in living debt-free. His humility and dedication to doing what was right left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation for Roger will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church (1941 Madison St, Waukesha, WI 53188) on Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 10:00am and continuing until the start of Service at noon. Roger will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warm and caring spirit.
