Anthony Kern Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Feb. 19, 2026.
Life-long resident of Waukesha, Anthony "Tony" Kern passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on January 19, 1942, to Benjamin and Dorothy Kern (née Wroblewski), Tony was raised in Waukesha and proudly graduated from Catholic Memorial. He went on to build a dedicated career as a UPS driver, where he faithfully served for 38 years. Through long days and changing seasons, Tony took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.

In 1963, he married the love of his life, Marlain. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to devotion, partnership, and unwavering love. Tony deeply cherished his wife and family, always placing them at the center of his life. Whether through quiet moments at home or time spent together celebrating milestones, he found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Marlain, daughter; Barbara (Kenneth) Leis

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Courtney (Trevor) Paff, Tyler (Danielle) Leis, great grandchildren; Lola, Finnan, and Cedric Paff, siblings; Dotty Kern, Sharlyn Grundman, Kevin Kern. He will also be fondly remembered by a host of family, friends, and relatives whose lives were touched by his kindness, steady presence, and warm heart.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Michelle.

A visitation will be held for Tony on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the start of services at 4:00 p.m. at Cesarz Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Angels Grace Hospice.

Tony was never a formal man, and that spirit will be reflected as he is laid to rest in his favorite Christmas sweater. In honoring his memory, the family invites guests to dress in business casual attire for the visitation and service. While suits and ties are certainly not required, they kindly ask that jeans be avoided. Thoughtful, polished, yet comfortable attire is appreciated as we come together to celebrate Tony's life.

Tony's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
