WADESBORO - On Saturday, May 4, 2024, Mr. Roger Eugene Vaughn, 74, passed away peacefully at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roger was born May 19, 1949, in Chesterfield County, SC, and was a son of the late Jerry Vaughn and the late Mary Hannah Williams Vaughn. He was a self-employed carpenter and general contractor for many years and retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections, having worked at Brown Creek Correctional Institute in Polkton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Vickie Newsome (Jim) of Cheraw, SC, Michael Vaughn of Dunn and Steven Vaughn of Kershaw, SC; his grandchildren, Chuck Thompson (Julie), Bethany Vaughn and Brittany Vaughn both of Dunn and Zane Vaughn of Chesterfield, SC; his great-grandchildren, Carolyn and Cordelia Thompson both of Chesterfield, SC; his companion, Debbie Lang of Cheraw, SC; his brother, Donnie Vaughn of Marshville; his special sister-in-law, Gail Teal of Chesterfield, SC and his nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lang Vaughn, and his brothers, Dennis Vaughn and Bernie Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McWhorter Hospice House, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
