Roger Walters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highland Park Funeral Home and Crematory on Dec. 24, 2025.
Roger Walters, age 78, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on December 21, 2025.
Roger was born on February 5, 1947, the beloved son of Geraldine Morris and Raymond Walters. Throughout his life, Roger was known for his strong work ethic, deep devotion to his family, and his genuine love for animals. He was also a talented artist, expressing himself creatively alongside his many interests.
He had a lifelong passion for antiques, Westerns, and music, especially James Brown. Roger loved coffee, caring for birds, and was especially gifted at fixing things-a skill many family members and friends relied on. He especially loved dancing with his wife, a joy that reflected their deep bond and shared happiness.
Roger is survived by his loving children, Anthony Walters (Teresa Walters) Jeffrey Walters (Brittany Wise) and Stephanie Lowe (Darren Lowe); his cherished grandchildren, Brittni (Raymond), Brooklyn, Mia, Aspen, Bentley, Presley, Ta'Lisa, Devin, Joy, and Chase; and his sister, Mary Sprang (Butch Sprang).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Walters; his parents, Geraldine Morris and Raymond Walters; and his brother, Leroy Walters.
Roger will be remembered for his creativity, steady presence, kind heart, love of family, and the simple joys that made him who he was.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 10:00am at Highland Park Cemetery, 4101 State Ave. Kansas City, KS 66102. Celebration of life will be announced in the spring.
