Roger Leon Whalen 78 of Louisa, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023 following a brief illness.
Roger was born December 26, 1944 at Steator, Illinois, the son of the late Giles and Martha Yedinak Whalen. He was a retired auto mechanic, a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Louisa, and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two daughters Rolyndia Whalen and Wesley Hanshaw and husband Joe; a son Lance Whalen and wife Emily; grandchildren Kailey Hanshaw, Haleigh Taylor, Lucas Stephens, Mavrik Whalen, Coraline Whalen, and Madison Dahl; great grandchildren Claire Stephens and Luke Stephens; and a brother Stan Whalen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 12th at noon at the Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
Care for Mr. Whalen and his family has been entrusted to our family at Wilson Funeral Home.
