Roger 'Yankee' Donald White, of Duncan, Oklahoma, was born in Mt. Clemons, Michigan on August 6, 1947 to Wellington J. and Gertrude (Gustafson) White. He completed his earthly journey at the age of 78 on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with his family at his side.
The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, September 24, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be in the chapel at Whitt Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, at 10:00 A.M. with Chris Dutton, Southern Baptist Church in Dickson, Oklahoma, officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Rodriguez, Tanner Brittain, Billy Tullous, David Shipman, Jaxon Millan, and Brycen Millan; honorary pallbearers are Chad Reed, Paul Dutton, Jim Thomas, and Granger Brittain. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
Following his high school graduation, Yankee proudly served in the US Army as a Specialist where he received an NDSM Sharpshooter (Rifle) commendation. He served from 1966 to 1968 when he was honorably discharged. He then went to work for Halliburton Energy Services as an Electrical Assembler at the Duncan Manufacturing Center. He completed 43 years of service there.
He married the love of his life, Elaine Cobb, on August 16, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together they raised two children, Dawn and April. He enjoyed golfing and dirt track racing. He especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Yankee is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine; two daughters: Dawn White and wife Lona of Duncan, April Millan of Duncan; five grandchildren: Lane, Tanner and wife Haley Brittain. Jaxon Millan. Izabel Millan, Tatum White; and two great grandchildren: Berkleigh Brittain and Granger Brittain. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Donna Cobb of Edmond, Nancy Kabriel of Edmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law: Marion and Drew Cobb; brother-in-law, Sonny Williams; and two nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Center of Duncan.
