Roger Wilderman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by ZIEMER FUNERAL HOME-NORTH CHAPEL on Oct. 1, 2025.
Roger L. "Cork" Wilderman, 78, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Roger was born in Francisco, Indiana on January 6, 1947, to Albert and Viola (Strawn) Wilderman. In 1973, he married Dorothy (Goedde) Wilderman. They had four children and five grandchildren.
Roger retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb and was a member of All Saints Parish. He was a beloved, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
Roger loved nature and enjoyed watching the birds and animals from his porch. He was curious by nature and enjoyed 'knowing how things worked'. His sense of humor, whether it elicited a laugh or a groan, will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Bob; and sisters, Alvera Wagner, Shirley Seib, Mary Goedde, and Rita Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; children, Diana (Chad Van Zilen) Wilderman, Alan (Emily) Wilderman, Roger (Summer) Wilderman, and Elizabeth (Jeff Brock) Wilderman; grandchildren, Nolan Cook, Sophia, Amelia, Bailey, and Emma Wilderman; and brother, Albert R. (Angela) Wilderman. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 at All Saints Parish-St. Anthony Church, 704 N. First Ave., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the trainers and fellow boxers at Rock Steady Boxing at the Ascension YMCA, as well as the compassionate teams at Deaconess Palliative Care and Deaconess Hospice Care, for their support and care during Roger's journey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roger's honor to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or All Saints Parish, 704 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
