Roger A. Willoughby, a beloved husband, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at the age of 80 at his home in Preston, Maryland.
He was Born on February 4, 1944, the son of the late Geneva Morgan Willoughby.
Roger was a proud member of the inaugural graduating class of Colonel Richardson High School in 1962. He lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and a deep love for his family and community.
Roger was married to his devoted wife, Rebecca "Becky" Truitt, on August 21, 1991. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home in Preston, MD, where they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
Roger devoted the majority of his professional career to the Preston Trucking Company as a driver, a job that he approached with integrity and commitment. His work ethic and dedication to service were admirable qualities that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
In his leisure time, Roger embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm. He found joy in golfing and playing tennis, and he took pride in maintaining his yard and garden. An ardent baseball fan, he passionately supported the Baltimore Orioles and frequently attended local school athletic events at Colonel Richardson High School. Roger held fond memories of hunting rabbits in his youth, proudly embracing his connection to nature. In later years, he could often be found immersed in the thrill of bidding at the American Corner auction, a testament to his love for community engagement.
Roger's warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Becky, who shared in his many adventures and cherished moments throughout their life together.
