Rolando Terrence Austin was born on March 29, 1974, and departed this world suddenly on October 23, 2025, at 51 years of age. He was born in Newark, New Jersey, to George H. Tucker, Jr. and Sheila Austin.
Rolando grew up in Newark and received his education in the Newark Public School system. Rolando was a "jack of all trades," and worked at various places, including Perry Funeral Home and with his father.
Rolando was known affectionately to his family as "Ro" or "Ro-Ro," and often used his story-telling abilities to bring a smile to those around him. Rolando enjoyed listening to music and cleaning. He loved to get dressed up and could affectionately be called a "sneaker-head." He also had an affinity for mayonnaise, which he would put on everything that he could. He would often tell his sister, Misty, to make sure she didn't use it all and left enough for him.
Rolando was preceded in death by his father, George H. Tucker, Jr., and his mother, Sheila Austin. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Deyshon George, Tajuan Austin, Roquan Austin, and Trakia George; grandchildren: Aniya George, Reegan Austin, Rylie Austin, and Khloe Holcombe; brothers: Nicholas Tucker (LaJuan), Thelton Tucker (Yasmin), Robert Austin, and Lee Curry; his sister, Misty Austin (Zakee Dawson); his step-mother, Shirley Tucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
