Rollo Charles Stade, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2025, a few months short of his 90th birthday.

Rollo was born Dec 10th, 1935, on the family farm in Welcome, Minnesota, where he learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and dedication that guided his life. After growing up in Welcome, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army in 1954. He completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before being stationed in Hammelburg, Germany, where he proudly served from 1954 to 1957.

On September 26, 1957, Rollo married the love of his life, Charleen Ziemer, in Fairmont, Minnesota. Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and adventure, raising five children-Steven, David, Trevor, Brenda and Shane.

Rollo and Charleen moved their family to Colorado in 1973, drawn by their shared love for the Rocky Mountains. Rollo embraced Colorado life, enjoying camping, fishing, and the great outdoors. He took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and had a soft spot for animals-especially cats. He loved his own cats dearly and became known for feeding all the neighborhood cats.

Rollo had a wild side that made him unforgettable-he enjoyed his cigarettes, a cold beer, and a good laugh with friends. In 1989, he had a stroke of luck, winning the Colorado Lottery, a story he loved to share over the years. Rollo retired from RR Donnelley in 1998 where he will be remembered for his hard work, generous heart, and spirited personality. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and unforgettable stories. He is preceded in death by his wife Charleen.

He will be dearly missed by his children and their spouses Steven (Sonja) Stade, David Stade, Trevor Stade, Brenda (Kevin) Spence all of Greeley, Shane (Karla) Stade of Burlison Tx, and Mike Prescott. In addition to many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life at Northern Colorado crematory on Sept 5, 2025, at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at the home of Zach and Grace Savoy.
