A Memorial Service for Romane D. Mortenson of Warroad, MN will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00AM at Woodland Bible Church in Warroad, MN. Interment will be held at a later date at Beaver Cemetery.

Romane Delton Mortenson was born on March 13, 1945, to Theodore and Signe Mortenson. He was the youngest of ten children. The family spoke Swedish; Romane understood the language but seldom spoke it.

As a young man, Romane traveled to North Dakota to help work in the sugar beet fields with his brother, Bennie. He also farmed alongside his brothers Kenneth and Bennie.

Romane entered the United States Army in the fall of 1965 and was stationed in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in the fall of 1967. On February 17, 1968, he married Judy in a small church in Ray, Minnesota. They shared 57 years and 10 months of marriage. Together, Romane and Judy raised two children, Glen and Paula.

Romane worked at Marvin Windows for over 50 years. He was also deeply committed to his community, serving as treasurer of the Moranville Township Board for 48 years, from 1973 to 2021.

In April of 1982, Romane began fixing and selling tires, operating M & M Service for 43 years.

Romane is survived by his loving wife, Judy; son Glen; daughter Paula Prickett; sister-in-law LaMae Mortenson (Merlin); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Signe Mortenson; his brothers Adolph, Gordon, Merlin, Kenneth, and Bennie (also known as LaVern); and his sisters Dora, Lenore, Normi, and Donna; and his son-in-law Brad Prickett.
