Ron Gathright

Ronald "Ron" Gathright, 81, of Dyersburg, died Friday, January 2, 2026, at this residence surrounded by his loving family. Born July 5, 1944, he is the son of the late Deffie and Marjorie Simpson Gathright. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 1969.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at First United Methodist officiated by Reverend Steven Leferbvre and Mr. Doug Gathright with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Ron Gathright, Jr., Ken Gathright, Zac Berry, Nic Berry, John David Caldwell and Charlie Caldwell will serve as pallbearers.
He is survived by wife, Millette Gathright; his daughter, Kristen Caldwell and husband, John David; four sons, Ron Gathright of Tioga, TX, Ken Gathright and wife Molly, of Little Rock, AR, Zac Berry and wife Leah of Mt. Juliet, Nic Berry and Samantha of Nashville; one brother, Shelly Gathright and wife Evelyn of Heber Springs, AR; six grandchildren, Charlie Caldwell, Olivia Caldwell, Avyn Berry, Breck Berry, Bowen Berry and Eliana Gathright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Gathright and Bernard Gathright.
