Ronald D. Sallee passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on September 19, 1942. He was a graduate of Casey High School in Casey Illinois.
Ronald proudly served in the United States Army, an experience that helped shape his strong work ethic and lifelong sense of responsibility. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a mechanic, working in the trade for over 30 years. He was known for his skill, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
He was a dedicated member of Independent Bethel Baptist Church in Joplin Missouri
In his personal life, Ronald enjoyed the outdoors and found great pleasure in fishing and camping. These activities brought him peace and were often enjoyed with family and friends.
Ronald is survived by his son, David Sallee, and daughter-in-law, Amy Sallee; his grandchildren, Buddy Sallee, Chelsie Sallee, Matthew Sallee, and Cory Thrasher; his great-grandchildren, Cooper Sallee, Kailyn Sallee, and Paisley Sallee; and his siblings, Kathy (Earnie) Peters, Connie (Floyd) Castillo, and Laura (Merle) Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine Sallee; his wife, Geraldine (Schrader) Sallee; and his recent wife, Ruby (Petty) Sallee; his brothers Bill, Garry and Roy Sallee; his sister Carolyn Oakley
Ronald will be remembered as a hardworking, dependable man who lived a life of service to his country and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation services for Ronald are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of their loved one. As Mark Twain once said, "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." Ronald, indeed, lived his life fully, and it is with deep admiration and love that we remember him.
