Ron Weller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Divine Mercy Funeral Home - Fort Wayne on Jun. 27, 2024.
Ron Weller, 92, of Hamilton Lake passed away after a brief and unexpected illness. He had just hosted a birthday party for himself sharing memories with family and close friends a few weeks before.
He was born in Fort Wayne and raised on a farm in New Haven. Ron joined the Navy and served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1956. He married the love of his life Margaret (Marge) Kohrman in 1956 and the relocated to San Diego, California where all four of their children were born.
In 1967, the family returned to Fort Wayne to be closer to relatives. Ron & Marge started their first automatic door business Ronco Specialties. After seven cold winters, they decided to return to sunny San Diego where they started Cal-Dor Specialties, a very successful automatic door company where all of their children and some relatives worked and which they later sold to Stanley and retired.
Due to the hard work and dedication that Ron & Marge share with relatives, two more very successful automatic door companies were spawned – A1 Door in Fort Wayne and Southwest Entrances in San Diego and Yuma, Arizona.
Ron and Marge had a large group of close friends in California and spent much of their time enjoying pranks with and traveling with friends, relatives and their grandchildren.
He and Marge led a full and eventful life – He will be remembered by all with his laughter, endless jokes and stories always creating and inventing a new and better mousetrap including a few which were granted patents.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Michael) O'Malley of Hamilton Lake, Jeffrey (Lorri) Weller of San Diego, California, Linda (Dan) Fritz of Alpine, California, and Tim (Linda) Weller of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Morse, Theresa (Atom) Cannizzaro, Van Weller, Chris Weller, and Ryan (Brittney) Major; and great-grandchildren, Aidan Morse, Douglas Cannizzaro, Quaid Cannizzaro, and Michaela Cannizzaro.
Mass of Christian Resurrection will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Saint Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. at the church.
