Rona Lynn Kay, born January 20, 1966, in Ogden, Utah, was a compassionate soul whose laughter was a melody that will forever linger in the hearts of those she touched. She was a beacon of unwavering loyalty, whose presence inspired and uplifted many. Her wit was as sharp as her intellect, often lighting up any room she walked into with her infectious spirit. Rona believed that growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional, a saying that perfectly encapsulated her zest for life.
Rona spent 20 rewarding years as a Tax Examiner for the IRS Large Corporation, retiring in 2021. Her work was a testament to her dedication and hard work, but it was her personal life that truly defined her. She was a woman of varied interests, and she had a deep love for canning, playing pool, gardening, chariot races, line dancing, and cooking and baking. Her soul was most alive in the mountains, at concerts, and especially when she was with her grandkids, who were the light of her life. Rona's love was vast and all-encompassing. When she loved, she loved hard; she was an embodiment of Maya Angelou's words, "I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver."
Rona is survived by her loving daughters Amanda (Kyler) Kay, Taryn (Justin) Keller, and Aja (Garret) Wight; son, Devon (Marcos) Kay; her mother, Georgene Richardson; sons-in-law, Garret (Aja) Darras, Justin (Taryn) Keller, Kyler (Amanda) Kay, and Marcos (Devon) Vargas; and her beloved grandchildren, Jaden Norager, Koltyn Keller, Paisley Keller, Alayna Kay, Kolt Kay, Kristopher Grove, Arther Pelton, and Hunter Hodges. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Richardson; her brothers, Roger and Stewart Richardson; and the love of her life, Gary Kay.
Rona's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love and resilience, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her. We invite you to share your cherished memories, photographs, and words of comfort on Rona's memorial page, as we remember and celebrate her remarkable life. Her story is not over; it continues in each of us who carry her memory in our hearts.
