Ronald Morris Absalonson was born in Orlando, Florida on January 2, 1953 while his parents Morris and Louise were stationed there serving in the Air Force.
Ron graduated from Rogers High School in 1971 and attended SCC, graduating with an electronics degree.
Ron met Judy, the love of his life, while “tooling” Riverside Avenue in downtown Spokane on Valentine’s Day when they were 17 years old. They married in 1974 and were blessed with two daughters, Tonya and Terra.
Ron worked for the BN railroad as an electrician and then worked for AMFAC, a Zenith TV distributor, where other repairmen would call for advice when they couldn’t fix a TV and he always knew the solution. He was exceptional at his work and could fix anything. Ron worked with and helped his mom and dad’s family business, Morrie’s TV, for over 20 years. After Morrie passed away in 2006, Ron continued the business and was a tremendous help to his mom. Ron finished his career working for ITSC, Spokane Public School District No. 81.
Family was the most important thing to Ron. He loved his family with everything he had, and he was so important to each and every one of them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He was always cracking jokes and kept everyone smiling and laughing with his quick sense of humor. He had a passion for feeding the neighborhood squirrels and enjoyed going to the casino, as well as spending time with his and Judy’s life-long best friends, Dave and Jackie. He was such a joy to everyone who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; daughters Tonya (Greg) and Terra (Danny); five grandchildren, Taylor (Katie), Tylee (Ali), Tylor, Toby & Tia; two great-grandchildren, Everett and Sutton; brothers Gary (Nancy) and Randy (Sammi); brother-in-law Bill (Becky); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ron unexpectedly passed away on March 20, 2026. He will be deeply missed by all.
