Ronald Orlin Brevig, age 91, of Rushford, MN, died at Harmony Place on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Ronald was born March 10, 1932, in Houston County, MN, on the family farm, the son of Melvin and Myrtle (Moger) Brevig. Ron graduated from Houston High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Fogal on November 15, 1952, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rushford, MN. Ronald was a strong and hard-working man. He worked as a Section Foreman for the Milwaukee Railroad, retiring after 30 years. He was an outdoorsman and liked to hunt, fish, and camp. He enjoyed sharing these hobbies with his children and grandchildren.  He collected Thunderbird toy cars, and liked to keep his own fleet of cars and boats meticulously clean and well maintained. He was a woodworker, and enjoyed making doll cradles for his granddaughters, and Christmas trees and reindeer for his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially playing cards, doing puzzles, or playing in the yard.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Rick (Michelle) of Preston, Randy (Janet) of Preston, son-in-law George Rodgers of Chatfield, and daughter, Laurie (Fred) Valdez of Rochester; 9 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Olson of Houston, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine Rodgers; and 4 brothers: Melford, Carroll, Earl, and Arlyn.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11am at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rushford, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Highland Prairie Cemetery.
