Ronald Gene Brown, 80, Marion, passed away at 4:55 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, July 9, 1945, to Leonard and Nellie (McGriff) Brown. On October 2, 1965, he married Doris Ann Morrison. Ronald attended Van Buren High School and then worked as a millwright at General Motors in Marion. He was a proud member of the NRA and was a woodworking hobbyist. For many years, he was a devoted member of Healing Heart Church of God where he played guitar and led music. Fishing was his "time with the Lord" and he loved it. He was especially fond of his time with his grandchildren and enjoyed the company of his dog, Rudy.
Survivors include his daughters, Carmen Renee (Bryon) Williams of Marion and Chandra Kay Brown of Marion; grandchildren, Kayla Renee Williams, Matraca LeAnn (Xaylnn Carter) Harris, and Ryon David Williams; great-grandchildren, Preslynn Kaye and Josie Ann; sisters, Carolyn Messersmith and Edith (Floyd) Ancil; twin brother, Donald (Linda) Brown; and sister-in-law, Shirley Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Nellie Brown; wife, Doris Ann Brown; granddaughter, Jami Skye Harris; brothers, Robert Brown, Frank (Shirley Rose) Brown, Phil (Janice) Brown, Pete (Deanna) Brown, and Jack (Bonnie) Brown; sisters, Marvel (Bob) King, Mary Alice (Mike) Ancil, and Norma June Brown; and brother-in-law, Bob Messersmith.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Ronald's life will begin at 11:30 am with Pastor Wally Champion officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory - Marion.
