On June 10, 2025 Ron received his angel wings. He passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his life, Patty and their 3 children Michelle, Brett and Morgan. While our hearts ache with his absence we find solace in knowing he was met at heaven’s gate by his grandchildren ~ showing him all the best hunting and fishing spots.

Ronald Edward Bruce was born September 15, 1957 in Broken Bow, NE to Joseph Dosey “JD” and Lucille Fern Bruce. Ron was the youngest brother to Bill, Robert, Eugene, Norman and Marie. In January of 1969, Ron moved with his family to Upton, WY. He was a natural athlete and played football, basketball, wrestling and track and field events throughout his school years. The summer prior to his Junior year, Jan and Melvin Douglas graciously took him in to be part of their family so he could stay in Upton with the love of his life, Patty. Ron graduated from Upton High School in 1977. On June 10, 1978, he and Patty were married. They made their home in Upton, WY. On January 16, 1979 they started their family by welcoming their first baby girl, Michelle Lynn. Brett Mitchell was born February 9, 1981 and Morgan Brittany on July 17, 1986.

Ron loved his family deeply and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a gracious host to countless family events and a father figure to many. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter and endless love. Ron was a hard worker with a strong work ethic that began at an early age that lasted his entire life. He was a jack of all trades. Hunting, fishing, coaching, pit boss, mechanic and grill master were a few of his life’s joys. His deep faith and family carried him through his illness with the belief that if his healing wasn’t here on earth, it would be received in heaven. Ron was a husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, friend, coach and mentor who was loved by all and will be missed beyond measure.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Lucille Bruce; mother-in-law, Pat Julius; brother Robert Bruce, sister Marie Bruce and grandsons Ein and Owen Remington. He’s survived by his wife, Patty Bruce; daughter Michelle Ewing (Jake); son Brett Bruce (Jamie); daughter Morgan Remington (Ryan); grandkids Hunter Woodard (Lainee); Jace Bruce; Reece Woodard / Gianna Lybarger (fiancé); Brayden Bruce (Erica); Bridger Bruce; Talen, Kollins “Sass”, and Ace Remington; great-grandson Hayes Bruce; brothers Eugene and Norman Bruce (Donna); sister-in-law’s, brother- in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Celebration of life services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Upton High School. Inurnment will be a private family service at Alva Cemetery.
