Ronald Burson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trahan Family Funeral Home - Pensacola on Jan. 19, 2026.
Ronald Eugene "Gene" Burson passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Pensacola, Florida, at the age of 65. He was the son of Willie Herman (Miller) Quinley and was born at Berkley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama.

He moved to the Pensacola area when he was about five years old. Growing up, he loved spending time with his grandfather, George Miller, in Bay Minette, Alabama, where he learned to hunt and fish. Gene had a deep love for the outdoors.

Gene attended Tate High School, Class of 1978, but due to becoming a young father and husband, he made the decision to leave school and work full time as a brick mason and concrete finisher. He excelled in concrete work, mastered his trade, and eventually opened his own business in the 1980s, Gene Burson Superior Concrete.

While raising his children, Gene made sure to pass down his love for the outdoors, taking them on many hunting and fishing trips. He was a larger-than-life kind of guy-people loved to be in his presence. Gene loved his family and friends and truly cherished his many friendships. He was a loyal friend until the end.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Quinley, and niece, Nicole Utnage.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother; his son, Timothy A. Burson, Sr.; daughter, Kristy (Shanna) Ard; his grandchildren, Timothy Burson Jr., Jacob Burson, Allen Enfinger, Triniti Ard, Destini Ard, and River Ard; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Trahan Family Funeral Home, 60 Industrial Boulevard, Pensacola, FL 32503, with visitation beginning at 12 noon and the funeral following at 1:00 p.m.
