RONALD J. BYE age 71, beloved husband of the late Judith Bye (nee Ekleberry); loving brother of Carol A. Bye - MacLeod (Scotty) of Massachusetts and Dear stepfather of Laura Bordy Mamer {David}, Stephanie Bordy, Carrie Kocian, JV Kocian {Leanne}, Amy Kocian Krotine {Danny}, Katie Gillespie {Rob}, Grandpa of Noah, Edie, Wyatt, Everett Gillespie, Elvi and Eliott Kocian and Luther Boyer; son of the late Sam Campbell Bye and Leona Antonia (Née Siebold) Bye. Ron was a US Navy Veteran. He also had a long career as an electrician at Lakewood City Schools, proud long-time employee of Malley's Chocolates and was an avid volunteer for the American Red Cross Northern Ohio Region for many years. Ron loved to travel, Star Trek and mystery novels and was a skilled packer. He loved his pets (Gracey and Izzy) and the world my have a surplus of diet Pepsi now. Ron loved to cook and most of all, Thanksgiving. He loved serving his community and those in need, but most of all he loved his family. He would drop everything to help and often did. He made friends wherever he went and could talk to anyone. Ron had a heart of gold and intentions to follow. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Ron passed away, October 16, 2024, surrounded by those who loved him. Please join family and friends for his Celebration of Life at the Bay Village Community Room (28000 Wolf Road, Bay Village) FRIDAY, November 29th from 12:30 PM - 3 PM. Ron's remains were buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Family suggests memorial contributions to American Red Cross of Northern Ohio Region, 3747 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
