Christopher Bye Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 29, 2026.
Christopher Bye, 52, of Newtown, PA died suddenly on January 27, 2026 at his home. Born in Bristol, PA he was a life long resident of Newtown.

Chris is a graduate of Council Rock High School, class of 1992; he earned a degree in Film from Bucks County Community College. Chris had a creative spirit and a passion for his work, in web based applications, which lead to many career defining moments and successes. He enjoyed traveling abroad and in the US for work and personal adventures. Chris was a talented singer songwriter and released an album with his band, The Helots.

Chris was a compassionate person who always rooted for the underdog. He offered time, resources and friendships to homeless individuals as well as many feral cats that later became domesticated.

Chris is the son of the late Ralph M. Bye, Jr. He is survived by his mother Anne Higgins Bye and his wife, of 25 years, Elizabeth Darrah-Bye. Chris is the father of twin girls, Hailey and Christina Bye. He is the proud Pop-Pop of Autumn. Chris is also survived by his sister Leah, and her husband Mike Hodgeson; his brother Matthew, and his wife Sabrina, as well as several nieces. Chris was a social and charismatic man who will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

All who knew him are invited to Chris's Life Celebration on Monday, February 2, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM and to his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 135 S. Sycamore St. Newtown, PA. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Chris's name may be made to The Bridge Clinic: the-bridge-clinic.givecloud.co
