David Schrenk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 13, 2026.
David Jacob Schrenk, 90, of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1935.

David attended Lincoln High School in Philadelphia before transferring to Williamson College of the Trades, where he graduated in 1954. Following graduation, he became a union bricklayer with the John B. Kelly Brickwork Company. After receiving his journeyman's card, David relocated for a time to expand his experience and further develop his masonry skills.

In 1959, David returned to Bucks County and founded the Dave Schrenk Masonry Company. Through hard work, dedication, and entrepreneurial vision, he later established DJS Custom Home Builders, Inc., specializing in custom single-family homes and land development. His craftsmanship and commitment to quality left a lasting mark throughout the community.

David was an accomplished outdoorsman and proudly achieved the Grand Slam in hunting. In honor of his 90th birthday, the Flag of the United States was flown over the United States Capitol at the request of Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

A longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church in Ivyland, Pennsylvania, David valued faith, family, and community. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing good food, good beer and wine, and relaxing during long weekends at the lake.

David was predeceased by his mother, Clara (Lentz) Schrenk; his father, Clarence Schrenk; his sister, Doris (Schrenk) Clark; and his brother, Clarence William "Mickey" Schrenk.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Debbie (Schrenk) Bradt and Keith Bradt; Donna (Schrenk) Scarpiello and Tony Scarpiello; Darlene (Schrenk) Jaspan and Elliott Jaspan; Dawn Schrenk-Maurer and Rich Maurer; and Dana Schrenk and Jon Ruth.

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Jarrad Bradt, Nick Bradt, Zach Bradt, Derek Reinert, Dillon Reinert, Lauren Scarpiello, Anthony Scarpiello, Rachel Jaspan, David Jaspan, Heidi Maurer, Hannah Maurer, Haley Maurer, Bexley Ruth, and Asher Ruth.

David was further blessed with great-grandchildren: Zara Bradt, Riley Reinert, Gemma Reinert, Emma Scarpiello, and Jayden Scarpiello.

David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the homes he built, the family he loved, and the many lives he touched.

A Life Celebration of Dave's legacy and his accomplishments will be announced at a later date.

Yesterday

I was so sorry to hear of your dad´s passing. I will always remember him for the time we celebrated your Aunt Doris´s birthday at La Stalla. He was a kind man and loved you all very much. I remember the times we had our luncheons at Ann´s choice with your Aunt Doris. Love to all,
Barbara Sladek
