Obituary: A Life Well-Lived
Ronald Clinton, Sr. was born on December 23, 1946, in Gastonia, North Carolina, to
Howard Clinton and Shelton Avery. He grew up in a lively home with twelve siblings,
including his identical twin brother, Donald. Ronald graduated from Highland High
School in 1963.
In 1967, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and embarked on a 40-year career as a pipe
fitter at the Domino Sugar refinery. Known as "Slim," he was respected for his work
ethic and cherished the camaraderie and bonds with his coworkers.
In 1969, Ronald married Elaine Whitehurst, and they created a loving home with their
four children. He taught the values of hard work and family, and his sense of humor was
captured in his favorite phrases like "Oh boy" and "Keep your shirt on."
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Clinton (Ravonn).
Ronald is survived by his wife, Elaine Whitehurst Clinton; children, Ronald Clinton Jr.
(Tiffany), Sean Clinton, Bridgett E. Clinton-Scott (Antwan), and Monique E. Gilliam;
grandchildren, Aniya E. Clinton, Ciera Clinton, Kera M. Clinton, Christopher Clinton Jr.
(CJ), Antwan Scott Jr. (AJ), Gideon Clinton, and Niara Clinton; and brother, Donald
Clinton (Darlene). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and
friends.
