Ronald M. COLEMAN, 72, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, September 23, 2024 in UR Noyes Hospital, Dansville.
Born November 27, 1951, in Dansville, he was the son of Max G. Jr. and Mildred R. VanDruff Coleman. On May 21, 1988, in Hallsport, he married the former Penelope J. “Penny” Carlin, who survives. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served honorably from 1970 – 1973. Ron was employed by Air Preheater for under ten years, did small construction jobs for many years, manager of Pizza Hut in Wellsville, and retired from Dresser-Rand as the maintenance manager. Ron was an umpire for over 40 years for Little League, high school baseball, and girls softball. He umpired at the 50/70 Little League World Series in Livermore, CA in 2018. Ron was a member of West Union Mennonite Church, serving as treasurer for many years. He and Penny worked with numerous youth groups through the years.
Surviving besides his wife, Penny, are: two brothers, Gerald (Virginia) Coleman of Belmont and Danny Coleman of Wellsville; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call at West Union Mennonite Church, 1347 County Route 84, Rexville, NY 14877 on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. Rev. Ed Babcock will officiate. Burial will be in West Union Mennonite Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702 Honor Guard.
