Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Inc. - Allen Park ChapelRonald Conrad, born on June 1, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Allen Park, Michigan. He lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.
Ronald spent his working life as a truck driver, a profession he approached with pride and commitment.
In addition to his career, Ronald proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed aboard the USS Northampton in Norfolk, Virginia, from 1961 to 1965. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life.
Ronald was an avid fan of University of Michigan football, always passionate about cheering for his team. His love for the game was a great source of joy and camaraderie as he enjoyed sharing those moments with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Christine (Tony) Arroyo, Cynthia (Frank) Merandi, and Monica (David) Irby; his son, Jeremy Conrad; as well as his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ronald also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Conrad; his brother, George Conrad; and his parents, Kenneth and Angeline (Kallas) Conrad. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart, and their memories will resonate with his family as they remember him.
A committal service to honor Ronald’s life will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery located at 4400 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442 on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2 pm.
Ronald leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family and country. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
