Ronald Craig Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Feb. 26, 2026.
Ronald "Ron" was born December 16, `936, in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away February 15, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

A 1954 valedictorian of Bayliss High School, Ron earned a scholarship to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. While in college, he met Marcella "Marty" Casteel in 1957. He graduated in June 1959 and married Marty on June 13, 1959.

Ron enjoyed a long career in engineering sales. He began with Westinghouse, living in several cities, and later joined Honeywell International in Indianapolis and soon transferred to Denver. There he became Product Manager and later was appointed International Sales Manager. When faced with a transfer from Denver to Minneapolis, Ron accepted an opportunity in Houston as Sales Manager for Community Health Computers, fascinated by the emerging world of computers. The family moved to Conroe for that role in1971. He retired in 1996.

In retirement, Ron pursued many interests. He became a master gardener and served as Treasurer and President of the River Plantation Improvement Association. He supported Marty's theatre work by building sets for the Crighton and Owen Theatres and volunteered with AARP Tax Aide for 25 years, helping many seniors in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Catherine. He is survived by his wife, Marty; sons Dean (Tammy) and Barry (Tara); grandchildren Loren (Brad) Hamilton, Derek (Shylah), Alyssa (Brett) Hume, Mitchell (Brittany) and Kaitlin Craig; and great-grandchildren Olivia and Mason Hamilton, Emma and Madison Craig, and Hadley and Hudson Hume.

Ronald Craig was a wonderful husband and a devoted father and will be greatly missed.
