Ronald Albert Dermody, age 90, of Crestview Hills, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Olivia “Libby” Dermody; daughters, Linda Schilling (Scott) and Amy Eyers (Chris); siblings, Rita Ray and Renee Cruea; 6 grandchildren; Katie, Emily, David, Amanda, Jacob, and Alex, and 10 great grandchildren. Ronald is preceded in passing by his sister, Ruth Fronk and brother, Robert Dermody.
Ron proudly dedicated 37 years of service to Cincinnati Gas and Electric. After retiring, he began a second career with Avis Car Rental, where he worked for another 28 years, proving that retirement was never really his style.
Always an athlete, Ron enjoyed softball and bowling, but was an avid golfer. Ron could often be found on the course enjoying the game he loved so much. Golf was more than a pastime for him; it was a source of joy and countless cherished memories. Known for his patience on the course and his quick wit off of it, Ron left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A devout Catholic, Ron kept his faith close throughout his life and remained steadfast in it until the very end. As he faced the challenges of dementia, his faith became a source of comfort and peace, guiding him through difficult days and offering reassurance to both him and those who loved him. It was a quiet strength that never left him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Church from 4:00 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 6:00 PM. Entombment will take place the following day, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Mother of God Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
