William P. Dermody, of Washington, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on January 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 75.

Born on May 30, 1950, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, William was the son of the late William A. Dermody and Doris Dermody (née Michalek). He was a graduate of Bridgewater High School and was widely known as a true jack-of-all-trades.

William spent many years working as a skilled carpenter and was also the proud owner of a sawmill, a trade that perfectly reflected his hands-on nature and love of craftsmanship. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and relaxing while watching classic western movies.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

William is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline Dermody; his sons, Patrick Dermody and his wife Amy, Tim Dermody and his wife Beth, Jason Dermody, and Chris Dermody; and his daughter, Jamie Graba. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Dermody.

He leaves behind many cherished grandchildren: Devon Yohe, Paige, Ava, Patrick, Kate, Allie, Jordan, Nicholas, Anthony, Tyler, Christopher, Parker, Paisley Dermody, Gage, and Tannah Graba. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Deanna Tebeau, Heather Lauzon, Trista Lauzon, Todd Lauzon, and Shane Lauzon, as well as his step-grandchildren, Jarrett Stann; Gavin and Ava Gray; Payton and Parker Norton; Zyrin Lauzon; and Emma and Serenity Lauzon.

William is predeceased by his parents, William A. Dermody and Doris M. Michalek Dermody.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 30, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at 121 Cemetery Hill Road, Washington, NJ 07882.
