Barbara Joan Rourke, 76, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Warren Haven Nursing Home in Oxford, New Jersey.
Born on April 11, 1949, in Paterson, New Jersey, Barbara was the daughter of the late John E. Blackburn and Leonia P. Blackburn (née Davis). She was a graduate of Butler High School and went on to work for State Farm for many years until her retirement in 2005.
Barbara was known for her love of cooking and the joy she found in spending time with her family. She cherished gatherings with her loved ones and took great pride in caring for those around her.
She is survived by her two sons, Jason Rourke and his wife, Joanna, and Kevin Rourke and his wife, Marilina. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Caleb, Sophie, Hayden, Brielle, Anelie, Abigail, and Stephen. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, Cindy Flaherty, Bill Gagg, Christine Gagg, and Michael Gagg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Rourke, who passed away in 2018, and her sister, Jackie Popomaier.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, all services will remain private and are under the direction of Warren Hills Memorial Home.
