Ronald Edward Dodd 82 of Porterdale /Covington died January 22,2026. Ronny is predeceased in death by his parents George Dodd and Bernice (Dodd) Cherry and his brother Jerry Dodd and sister-in-law Shirley.

Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Dodd, his sons Tony & Missy Dodd, George Edward Dodd, Rev. Tim & Angie Walden and Greg & Lisa Walden. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Walden (John), Timothy Walden (Kimberly), Jessica Bowles (Christopher), Angela Whitley (Greg), Kris Walden (Leslie) and Justin Walden. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Kane, Alabama, Granger, Samuel, Kayden, Jaxon, Gracelyn, Lizzy (Kaseem)Dylan, Nora and great great grandchild Kalani. Mr. Dodd is also survived by his nephew Scott Dodd (Pam).

Ronny was a member of Calvary Community Church. He was retired from Georgia Steel where he was the top salesman. Ronny was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served with distinction as a Military Police Officer during Vietnam. He was also stationed in Germany where he was a guard to President John F. Kennedy and friends with United States Astronaut John Glenn. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a loving and caring person who always showed Gods love in his life. He was an avid golfer who won many tournaments during his life. He loved sports. It was God, Family, & Country always. He and Ann loved going to the mountains and St. Augustine Florida. Ronny was indeed a Porterdale Boy being born in the Porterdale Hospital and never living far from there. His new home was only a few hundred feet from the line but he always kept his PO Box and was always a Porterdale Boy in heart. He was the Greatest Chili Maker ever.

Memorial Service for Mr. Dodd will be held on Wednesday January 28th 11:00AM at Calvary Community Church, 120 Crowell Road Conyers Ga. Rev. Tim Walden will officate. Interment will be later at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington Ga.
