Ronald G. Eidson, a beloved member of the Westland community, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 15, 1954, in Westland, MI, Ron dedicated his life to his family and passions, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Eidson; his son, Ryan Shippe; and his daughter, Melanie Roose. Ron took immense pride in being a grandfather to his grandchildren: Brooklyn Roose, Paisley Roose, Nora Shippe, and Luka Shippe. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Eidson, and nieces Sara (Will) DeBartolo and Samantha Haleks, along with his brother-in-law, Dennis Haleks.
Ron will be remembered not only for his role as a loving family man but also for his vibrant interests and hobbies. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, carving pumpkins, drag racing, and bowling. His adventurous spirit and love for cars earned him many accolades at car shows, reflecting his dedication and passion for the automotive world. Additionally, he volunteered in the Toys for Tots program, showcasing his commitment to giving back to the community.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Eidson; his father, Donald "Whitey" Eidson; and his sister, Cathy Haleks. Their memories will forever remain close to the hearts of those who loved him.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and kindness during this difficult time. Ron will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
