Ronald Erickson Obituary

Ronald Sylvan Erickson, 83, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Mercy San Juan Hospital.

Ron was born in Logan, UT, to parents Dorothy and Sylvan Erickson.

He is survived by his brother, Mike Erickson; and close friend, Linda Parker.

Ron received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Utah State and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Kansas. He earned his law degree and a post-doctoral degree from the McGeorge School of Law.

Ron also served as a Captain in the United States Army, Military Intelligence Branch, in Munich, Germany.

Upon graduating from McGeorge School of Law, he was in private practice before joining the Sacramento law firm of Turner and Sullivan.

Ron first joined Sutter County in 1982, starting his career as Deputy County Counsel and serving later as the Assistant County Counsel. Ron was appointed in September of 2003 as County Counsel for Sutter County.

Ron provided over 31 years of faithful service to the citizens and government of Sutter County, retiring December 5, 2014.

The love for his job and the people he worked with showed clearly to all who had the opportunity to interact with him.

Ron was respected and trusted by many, including Elected Officials, co-workers and his own staff. He was a skilled attorney, a responsible citizen and a dedicated friend, and will forever be remembered as such.

In keeping with Ron's wishes, there will be no memorial service.
